Default Match Score: 9
*GridGammon is the primary site for play. However, because not everyone has an account at GridGammon, all contestants must be able to play at Safe Harbor Games. An account at Safe Harbor Games is available to anyone. If one player has GridGammon and the other has SafeHarbor, the match must be played at Safe Harbor. If anyone is required to play on SHG and they don't have a working account there, they will lose by forfeit if they can't get an account working well within the deadline for the round in question. Stage 1: A round robin tournament for 4 groups of sixteen where the top 4 winners in each group advance. This is determined by, 1) wins and then the tie-breaker, 2) score/pts) followed by 3) direct win between 2 players.
* Arrange a time to play within 24hrs. This is a guideline.
* All rounds must be completed within 1) 96 hrs for rounds starting on Fridays and 2) 72 hrs for rounds starting on Tuesdays.
* Being on time is a must. So if you're 30 mins late without any prior notice and reason, the match will be forfeited. This is a rule and will be enforced strictly.
* Play in a timely and polite manner.
* 9 pt matches, Crawford rule.
* Matches must be played rated.
* Players should be sure of their connection before a match. Once begun, the match is on. If anyone disconnects 3 times, they have lost.
* Players may ask admins to watch over their matches; any subsequent complaints should be supported with proofs (screen captures or recordings for example). Please make sure to save the matches on your computer.
** When you sign up you commit to finishing the tournament. Dropping out will result in forfeiture of ALL played matches in this tourney as well as a temporary ban; you will not be allowed to enter the next two Backgammon Republic events.
**** Any ruling the admins make is final.
